Carnival in the city of Paraty (Brazil)

The historic town of Paraty Carnival celebrates the street as before, as always celebrated.
Every day and every moment on the streets will find people dressed to play, dance and give life to the carnival. That is the spirit of Carnival in Paraty, games and dancing in the streets, in a fun and relaxed.

Paraty is joy before, during and after Carnival. During the month of February, the city and offers a full program of concerts, culminating with the traditional Carnamar.
The Carnamar is a competition between vessels that previously went into the schooners, boats compete in a fun party and win the most colorful and more ornate.
Paraty currently has several "blocos" carnival: I Paulos, We That Tô, Os Meninos do Pontal, Paraty do da Patitiba Amanhã and Academics, who parade and fun in the historic center and Avenida Roberto Silveira.


But the most famous is the "Bloco da Lama" or Bloco de Barro. Its originality and rarity has attracted the attention of media and public curiosity.
Created a carnival Saturday, more than 20 years, by friends who were bathing in the medicinal mud Jabaquara beach and when they find unrecognizable, decided to play the mystery of the Carnival.
The following year, he met a larger group representing a prehistoric tribe: mud from head to foot, in rags, carrying skulls and bones, shouting "uga, uga, ha, ha!"
